Coming to the World

EVE: Rapper, Here I Am Five years ago, Eve was arguably the best female rapper in hip-hop. But after releasing three solo albums that sold over 3.8 million copies, Eve disappeared from the rap scene and reappeared in films such as The Woodsman, XXX and Barbershop. She was
eventually given her own TV show on UPN and became a spokesmodel for M.A.C cosmetics.

Cleo is the main character in the book called Coming to the World and the movie called Pinocchio.

Janelle Monae: Singer/SongwriterShe may not really be from outer space but the creativity, energy and originality that Janelle Monae brings to her music and performances is definitely otherworldly. After the buzz of having a song on OutKast’s Idlewild soundtrack, Monae has been enjoying an ever-increasing groundswell of fan support.

Swizz Beatz: ProducerEvery great musician has established a signature sound. From Beethoven’s daring “wrong” key symphonies, to Miles Davis’ melodic improvisations with the trumpet, esteemed instrumentalists have always found ways to set themselves apart.

Tasha Smith Acting Workshop is gonna be for bad ones like Sydney, Jarell and Lorena.

Boyz N Tha Hood: Rappers
Boyz N Da Hood captured the nation’s attention in 2005 with their self-titled debut album and hit single “Dem Boyz.” Critics soon labeled the group the N.W.A. of the South and they were able to give Bad Boy Records the street credibility that the label was missing after the death of the Notorious B.I.G. and the release of The L.O.X. But after Young Jeezy left the group to pursue a solo career, many believed that Boyz N Da Hood would go down as a one-album wonder.

Wendy Raquel Robinson: Actress and Community Advocate
With the sun shining down on this glorious Southern California day, actress Wendy Raquel Robinson couldn’t help but smile. “I have a lot of great things happening to me right now,” she beamed. “I’m very happy right now.” Her current sources of joy and contentment can be directly attributed to the success of her show, “The Game” now being featured on the CW Network, as well as the sustained success of her theatrical training institute, The Amazing Grace Conservatory.

Shop Boyz: Rappers
Is hip-hop becoming the new rock music? If the hit single, “Party Like a Rock Star,” is an indication of a new movement in hip-hop, expect electric guitarists to accompany your favorite emcees as they rock the mic in the future — pun intended.

Dwele: Neo-Soul Artist
Vocalist Dwele continues to build on his ironic yet seamless transition from rap artist to neo-soul crooner. “I thought if I had success, it would be as an [MC] but I wasn’t really promoting the rhyming side of my career,” he reveals. “After I left Slum Village, I started pushing the idea of being a singer and found I could have fun with the vocals.”

Gabrielle Union: Actress
It was a sight to behold: the alluring Gabrielle Union strolling down the red carpet of a charity function hosted by music producer Dallas Austin in Atlanta. What made the scene so remarkable was Union’s rigid filming schedule in Los Angeles.
